The Secret WordPress Page Everyone Should Know About

Have you ever needed to change the WordPress admin email only to be held up by the confirmation process? It always seems like the email is going to someone who you can’t contact and it can really slow you down if you need to test emails coming from the site. For people in the know you can fix this with ease by changing the database stored on the hosting company’s server. What if you didn’t know that, or worse what if you don’t have access to the hosting account. There is a way! Just add /wp-admin/options.php to your URL!  (Example: www.example.com/wp-admin/options.php)

I know you’re excited, but there is a reason this page has been hidden from you. If you aren’t 100% sure you know what you’re doing, don’t touch anything yet. The page is linked to the database and changes to it could break your website. Before proceeding make sure you have a backup of your website AND THE DATABASE. That way you can put the site back if something goes wrong. If this whole process is over your head, just give us a call.
