iDNS Fake Invoice

Have you ever received a document that looks like this?  It’s totally fake!  iDNS is one of several companies that send out fake invoices hoping that you don’t know who your domain registration company is, so you will simply pay it.  Of course, it says right in the copy “This notice is not a bill”, but it sure as hell looks like one.  And that’s no accident!

Most reputable domain registration companies charge about $15 per year.  This one charges three times the normal amount.

Domain Registry of America is another organization that does the same thing.  If you get one of these that’s not from your domain registration company of record, just recycle it.
