Stripe – online payments made easy

If you would like to accept payments online, there are a lot of processors to choose from. However, finding the right one takes an enormous amount of time, energy and research.

Recently, we switched from our merchant account to “Stripe”.

Stripe has no monthly fees, no setup fees and no validation fees.  Best of all, they handle all of the PCI compliance.  They are like a deluxe version of PayPal.

They charge 2.9% +  30 cents per successful transaction.

Stripe was designed for developers, but there are several plugins available to make it more usable for non-techies.  I used “WP Simple Pay Pro for Stripe” and for $30 I was up and running in an hour or so. Stripe is not known for having great technical support.

When deciding on an online payment processor for your business, there is a lot of information to sort through. It’s best to make a list of your requirements prior to evaluating any online processor. Stripe was a good fit for my business. Maybe yours too.
