About Steve

For over 20 years, Steve has been building world-class websites, branding start-up companies and marketing innovative new products.

Native Seattleite

Steve was born and raised in North Seattle and learned the value of hard work at the age of 12. He had a Seattle Times paper route and delivered the news seven days a week for two years, earning $35 a month. At the age of 15, he began selling subscriptions to the Seattle Times door-to-door, until he was old enough to get a job on the night crew answering phones. He eventually became a District Manager, supervising 12 – 16 year old newspaper carriers, sometimes over 100 at a time. He felt like if he could do that job, he could do anything! He worked at the Times for 23 years.

Turning the Page

Near the end of his tenure at the Times, it became obvious that the they would be slow to adapt to the internet age. So, he began to retrain himself for graphic and web design by purchasing the first versions of the Macromedia/Adobe Suite of programs, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, Director, Freehand and others. Since the technology was new, he figured if he could learn them better than anyone else, he would be employable.

Graphic Design

By 1999, he was proficient at using electronic graphic design tools and was hired as a full time Graphic Designer by Tony Goedde of Icon Imagery. Tony is an accomplished designer and business owner, who patiently taught Steve the graphic design business from the ground up. Steve worked there for nine years, designing and managing a wide variety of projects.

Tony and Steve became good friends over the nine years he worked there, and still keep in touch to this day.

Entrepreneurial Spirit

In 2008, Steve started his own business, Steve Pillitu Graphic Design. The timing wasn’t great, but with God’s provision, his fledgling business survived the great recession and with the help of his BNI group, flourished over the next several years.  In June 2015, Steve changed the name of his company to P2 Graphic Design.  After all, P2 is much easier to remember than Pillitu!
